Located on the north edge of the historic Barrio Amón neighborhood, this hotel is larger and more luxurious than most of the area’s smaller hotels. There’s nothing particularly distinctive about the property or rooms here; however, in terms of service, location, and price, this hotel gets my nod over the nearby Holiday Inn. The rooms are all spacious, well kept, and come with plenty of amenities. And you are close to all the downtown action. While the food is merely average, the ambience of their little outdoor, sidewalk cafe, El Cafetal de la Luz, is delightful. There’s also a fairly swank casino on site.
